Thanksgiving in Germany...

I've been in amazement at how quickly the Christmas stuff has gone up after the Halloween holiday...like there was no Thanksgiving in between.

I was going to write a whole post about it today and then as I sat down to do it I realized that Germany doesn't celebrate THANKSGIVING.  Duh...American holiday.

And so today's blog post is an ultra short commentary on my brain power...

I may just pull out the Christmas CDs a little early this year.  :)

Twenty years ago when I lived there we would have several young troops for Thanksgiving (from hubbys motorpool), but at Christmas they were very busy with German sponsered celebrating. Have fun!

So, does that mean you're like me and you think, "Whew, don't have to worry about making a turkey"? or like Tom, "All right! All the more turkeys for me at the store! I can make TWO practice birds before the big day!"

Did you see Karin's blog post about T-day in Milan last year? It was kind of amazing what she managed to pull together! Of course Karin + cooking/baking usually translates to "amazing"!

Basically Thanksgiving is overlooked here also. The halloween decor goes straight to Christmas. I hope you cook a turkey anyway cuz they are soooo good! Mom always started the Christmas music (aka monheim steamroller) around Halloween. Why not!!
glad to hear little lulu is feeling better and your such a good mommy to her big sis. love you
